1954 England. Dunster, Somerset. Gallox Bridge across the River Avill. This bridge is a scheduled national monument and is Listed Grade 1 as a building of historic importance. The name Gallox is derived from the gallows that at one time stood nearby and pack horses carrying wool used it for many centuries. The bridge is thought to date from the 15th century. David Cole who is on the bridge has been a colleague since schooldays when I took this picture and has made a career in photography.
