1954 Late Summer. Thatching of hay and straw stacks was customary in the 1950s, using traditional rope made from sisal or twisted straw. This picture was taken at West Buckland, Somerset, a village between Taunton and Wellington.

Camera: A West German Baldix 77.5mm F4.5 Westar three element lens, Prontor S shutter. Film Kodak Panatomic X, yellow filter x 2, 1/125 second at F8. Developed by hand using Kodak Microdol for 17 minutes.
