1966 September, Romania. On the Plain of Letea in the Danube delta close to the border of the USSR. At the time this was the last working windmill. Built of wood to a traditional style windmills like this were common in the flat land of the delta and in neighbouring Bessarabia [Moldova] up to the 1930s. Not much is left of the old mills [2015] and newer versions have been built to use the abundant natural energy of the delta.
