September, Romania. On the Plain of Letea in the Danube delta close to the
border of the USSR. At the time this was the last working windmill. Built of wood
to a traditional style windmills like this were common in the flat land of the
delta and in neighbouring Bessarabia [Moldova] up to the 1930s. Not much is left
of the old mills [2015] and newer versions have been built to use the abundant
natural energy of the delta. Camera
