1960 September. Near Orestias, Greece, close to the Turkish border. A small traditional farm house built in wattle and daub, with a tiled roof. Farming in Greece depended on family units such as this, growing corn and melons. Water was still carried by hand. The cart to the right of the picture is drawn by oxen.

Camera: MPP Microflex Twin Lens Reflex with F3.5 77.5mm Taylor Taylor Hobson lens. Film Kodak Verichrome Pan at F8 - 1/ 300 second. Developed by hand in a village in India using May and Baker Promicrol at normal dilution with water from the local well.
