1962 May - Iran. A village in Forg in Khorasan about 53 miles (90 kilometres) from Birjand. My diary for the day says it was 'a delightful village with a castle, good wine and carpet making'. I was invited to a wedding and with the photographs will always remember the incredibly warm hospitality, the men dancing with music from a drum and short trumpet. The women and children watched from the shelter of the trees
