1961 USA Norfolk Virginia The SS Gloucester City loading tobacco. The 5800 ton ship was one of the Bristol City Line owned by Charles Hill & Co and was a regular visitor to Norfolk to pick up tobacco for W.D. & H.O.Wills, cigarette manufacturers in Bristol. Seven years after this picture was taken the Gloucester City was sold to a company in Panama and renamed St John. A few months afterwards it was wrecked in Madagascar and scraped.

Camera: MPP Microflex Twin Lens Reflex with F3.5 77.5mm Taylor Taylor Hobson lens. Film Kodak Verichrome Pan at F8 - 1/250 second. Developed by hand in England using May and Baker Promicrol at normal dilution.
