USA Norfolk Virginia The SS Gloucester City loading
tobacco. The 5800 ton ship was one of the Bristol City Line
owned by Charles Hill & Co and was a regular visitor
to Norfolk to pick up tobacco for W.D. & H.O.Wills,
cigarette manufacturers in Bristol. Seven years after this
picture was taken the Gloucester City was sold to a company
in Panama and renamed St John. A few months afterwards it
was wrecked in Madagascar and scraped.
