1967 LAKE TITICACA BOLIVIA Quechua women and their children on the Island of Amantani in the northern part of the lake. Unusually the population of Amantani is Quechua the original tribe, although the land surrounding the lake is the territory of the Aymara.

I went to the island in 1967 with the Peruvian Navy on one of the regular visits for a government health programme. The gathering was unusual and I felt fortunate to see so many women in their traditional clothes in one place.

Camera: Nikon F 35mm Single Lens Reflex with Nikkor 50mm F1.4 lens. Film - Kodak Plus X Pan 1/125 second at F5.6. Developed by hand in Lima using Kodak Microdol in normal dilution.
