1965 LAKE TITICACA BOLIVIA at an altitude of 3,812 metres (12,507 feet) in the Andes mountains. A lone Aymara fisherman with his totora reed bundle raft or balsa. At one time the sails for these boats would have been sheets made from totora reed but by the 1960s the reed had been replaced by cotton. A dense bed of totora reed can be seen growing in the foreground.

Camera: Nikon F 35mm Single Lens Reflex with Nikkor 105mm F2 lens. Film - Kodak Plus X Pan 1/250 second at F8. Developed by hand in Kodak Microdol in normal dilution.
