1961 LAKE TITICACA BOLIVIA at an altitude of 3,812 metres (12,507 feet) in the Andes mountains. An Aymara fiesta on the north shore of the Strait of Tiquina near the village of San Pablo. The scene is a typical festival of the time when the women sit gathered in a circle with their children and talk, while the men in the foreground spend the afternoon drinking and playing music. The man in bottom left is carrying a moseño, a long bamboo flute. In the middle distance is a typical community of thatched adobe houses surrounded by fields of barley and other crops.

Camera: MPP Microflex Twin Lens Reflex with F3.5 77.5mm Taylor Taylor Hobson lens. Film Kodak Verichrome Pan at F5.6 - 1/300 second. Developed by hand in La Paz using May and Baker Promicrol at normal dilution.
