NONESUCH SILVER PRINTS
Unique photographs on silver from the 1950s and 1960s
from Nonesuch Expeditions

1964 PERU A group of young Quechua women in Vilcabamba, then a remote stonebuilt village at an altitude of about 2.600 metres and effectively out of touch with the world. The women are sheltering from a chill mist, in home-spun clothes and shawls, and their feet were bare. It is one of my most telling pictures from the Andean highlands.

Camera: Nikon F 35mm Single Lens Reflex with Auto Nikkor F1.4 55mm lens. Film - Kodak Plus X Pan 1/60 second F4. Developed in La Paz using Kodak Microdol at normal dilution.
