1963 January Nasca/Nazca, Peru. Maria Reiche, a German schoolteacher and mathematician who devoted her life to the study of the lines and drawings on the desert pampa points out details to Allan Reditt during the filming of Mystery on the Desert for BBC TV, the first film to record her work. The 5km long straight line leads in a north-westerly direction from a clearing at the base of the hill where they are standing to a point on low hills, foothills of the Andean ranges..

Camera: Canonflex R2000 Super Canonmatic R 50m F 1.8 lens. Film - Kodachrome X 64 ASA 1/250 second F5.6. Developed in USA.
